The space design of Ilhwa’s 1st Hawaiian Kona Coffee flagship, Cafe Kona Queens was based on the collection of every process of growing, harvesting the coffee beans at the Ilhwa coffee plant in Hawaii Big Island and bringing them to Seoul and roasting-‘From Farm to Cafe’-as a brand story.

While keeping the old feeling preserved in the building as time passed, we devided the space by both strengthening and destroying the structure, thereby reinterpreting the atmosphere of coffee farm from BKID’s point of view.

The exterior that reminds the viewer of green house, the roasting area where you can see the inside, the structure of bar convenient for barista, the central table for common use on 2nd floor, the terrace in with a great view of Inwangsan in 3rd floor-these were all equipped with Matter & Matter furniture and lights designed by BKID, showing what BKID think is the brand experience for Cafe Kona Queens.

BKID가 (주)일화의 첫번째 하와이안 코나 커피 플레그쉽(삼청동) Café Kona Queens의 브랜드 디자인부터 건축, 인테리어, 가구 furnishing을 진행하였다. Hawaii Big Island 일화 현지 커피농장에서 직접 기르고, 수확한 원두를 서울로 공수하여 로스팅 하는 전체의 과정, From Farm to Café를 브랜드 스토리로 담았다.

BKID는 일화와 함께 Café Kona Queens의 초기 컨셉트부터 비쥬얼 디자인, 공간 디자인, 그리고 시공까지 담당하여 7월말에 공식 런칭 하였다. 전층의 가구와 조명은 BKID 자체 가구 브랜드 Matter & Matter의 테이블, 의자, 소파 그리고 조명으로 연출되어 BKID가 생각하는 경험을 브랜드와 공간 뿐만 아니라 가구에서도 느낄 수 있다.
